A&E honored Sheets with an in-memoriam card during the April 25 episode of ‘Storage Wars’ and aired a marathon of classic episodes featuring him. The network described Sheets as a beloved member of the ‘Storage Wars’ family, while Original Productions praised his bold instincts and contributions to the show’s legacy. Fans have been vocal in mourning the man they knew as ‘The Gambler,’ a nickname earned for his high-risk bidding style.

Life and career after ‘Storage Wars’

Sheets appeared in over 160 episodes from 2010 to 2023, retiring after a heart attack in 2019 led to reduced appearances. He relocated to Lake Havasu, Arizona, where he ran his business, Havasu Show Me Your Junk. Known for his catchphrase ‘This is the WOW factor!’, Sheets maintained a presence in the storage auction community until his death.

Investigation into online harassment

Police in Lake Havasu City have stated they are investigating claims that Sheets was bullied online before his death. Laura Dotson said his family shared that the harassment had gone on for about three years and caused him deep distress. In April, Sheets named alleged bullies on social media, and shortly before his death, friends observed he accepted unusually low offers for valuable items he was selling.
